Course Summary

  • The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master’s degree in business administration (management).
  • The core courses in an MBA program cover various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operations in a manner most relevant to management analysis and strategy.
  • The value of the MBA, however, is not limited strictly to the business world. An MBA can also be useful for those pursuing a managerial career in the public sector, government, private industry, and other areas.
  • Graduates of an MBA programme have, due to their qualification, higher chances of obtaining and holding a high level management position.

Eligibility

  • Department Of Business Studies is  Affiliated to UPTU. 75% seats are filled by university through state entrance examination & 10% through mains counseling depending on the rank obtained by the students in AIEEE / JEE –mains.
  • Rank in SEE- MTU/GBTU
  • Rank in CAT/ MAT
  • Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks.

  • Master of business administration is popular 2 year professional course. It is semester based course comprising of 4 semesters. First year is common to all the students which provide them the basic fundamentals of various fields of management.
  • Second year students have options to select their subjects from various electives as per their preferred specialization course.
  • Management course is designed in such a way that it deals with both practical and theoretical aspects of business

Assessment

The scheme of examinations & evaluation is one of the most important components of judging the academic performance and development of the students. Therefore, the students are assessed regularly. Weightage is given to continuous/ internal assessment in a semester wherein. Graduation with Min. 60% OR Min. 60% in Graduation with Qualified Rank UPSEE-15, MAT-15 Score, CAT-15 Score.

Sales and Marketing:

  1. Provides a basic understanding of core concepts of marketing and sales,
  2. This segment is the largest employment segment for young management graduates/post graduates.

 Finance/Financial  Management:

  1. The program prepares students for careers in banks, financial institutions, as financial analysts, comptrollers, investment consultants and other top of the line financial advisories and professional opportunities.
  2. Banking, finance, securities, investment and insurance is generating a very large demand (known as BFSI Sector) and opportunities here in numbers & compensation are at par with marketing opportunities
  3. Salaries in average job positions ranges from 1.8 l.p.a. to 4.5 l.p.a. and for consultancy & advisory firms are among  the highest in the entire entry level spectrum & no limits can be fixed.

Human Resource Management:

  1. The HR Managers are responsible for hiring, promotions, wages & salaries administration, personnel & administration work related to human resources of the company as well as for developing them.
  2. The emphasis currently being put on HR makes it a necessary and highly regarded discipline and a very satisfying one & relatively less of field job.
  3. Salaries at entry level range from 2.4 l.p.a. to 6 l.p.a. with excellent growth prospects for successful managers.

 I.T. Management
